HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR TIME

The only way to actually be superhuman is to fall in love with your freezer. Your freezer should become your best friend and if you live somewhere where you can have a big freezer, even a chest freezer - get one. On the days you have more energy you can enjoy batch cooking, and on the days you feel exhausted you can rely entirely on it. VERY little doesn’t freeze – in my opinion the main things that really don’t work are egg-based things (like a quiche) and double cream (it comes back to life split). Otherwise, relying on your freezer is the super power to  hone in on and use to your advantage. Do so wisely.

Usually, the main element that’s stressful about cooking is the time it can take to actually make things – especially if you are committing to making something like a curry with  numerous or  intricate ingredients. Your freezer is literally your nervous system dream. You can make pretty much anything and then freeze it. So you can have that lie in, as your pancakes are in the freezer and you don’t need to go out and buy over processed junk last minute. It is  there,  just waiting for you. It has your  back, quite literally (bad nervous system joke!).

THE IMPORTANCE OF HOME COOKING

With the world getting faster and faster, the abundance of foods available, and the endless new gadgets created to cook,  eating out can often feel like the only way to avoid overwhelm. Whilst there is always a time for eating out and enjoying one’s self at various venues it’s important to highlight that the main aim of restaurants is to produce fast and cheaply, so they can make a profit. There are very few restaurants that focus on good quality, well-sourced produce (sadly). Most (in fact I would go as far as saying all) will be using low quality oils and inorganic ingredients. “Home cooking gives you more control over what goes into your body and the more at ease you feel in the kitchen the better equipped you will be to create delicious meals that can support you throughout the year. The shorter the chain between the food source and your plate, the higher quality and abundance of  energy the food will have, which will impart onto you as you eat it” AHN
